Join us for Take a Kid Fishing, a free, family-friendly community event designed to connect kids with nature, mentorship, and the joy of fishing. Hosted by The Community Effect, this unforgettable day brings together local anglers, volunteers, and families for hands-on fishing experiences in a fun, supportive environment.

Young participants will be paired with experienced fishing mentors who will guide them through the basics or help them level up their skills — no experience needed. Whether it’s their first catch or their fiftieth, every child gets the chance to build confidence, learn something new, and create lasting memories on the water.

While the fishing is underway, families can enjoy our Summer Kickoff Party, featuring live music, free food, games, local vendors, and activities for all ages. From Bike Bingo to community booths, there’s something happening at every corner of the park.

This event is completely free and open to the public, making it one of the best family events of the summer. It’s more than just fishing — it’s about building relationships, strengthening community connections, and creating positive experiences for youth.
